Chicago-style pizza is sort of like the Dragonborn of pizza.

I mean, sure, I guess we can allow it, but the purists will always grumble.

EDIT: what you are really looking for is a deep dish ham & pineapple pizza. That would be a, uh ... tortle.

Who said anything about allowing it?

Deep dish hawaiian misses the whole reason why people like pineapple on pizza.

Now them's fightin' words!

While I prefer pepperoni, I just had a Hawaiian deep dish from Rocky's. It was delicious! Unless of course you're talking about Chicago style deep dish, that's it's own weird off-shoot.

I just wanted to pop this out, since I gave a lot of discussion about what Bladesinging means by RAW.

I love your Gnome Bladesinger, I think it is amazing, and reflavoring it has made it exactly what I would expect from a Gnomish Bladesinger.

But, you also put in the work to rewrite it, to take the same end results and find new explanations for it. That is the work I'm talking about for Max, the thing he says that you don't need to do.
Sure, but I could also have just erase the line about elves inventing it, and go. It doesn’t even need to have a specific racial origin.

Now, I like to know the history of such things and where they come from and what they look like, but not everyone cares, and that’s fine. If Max doesn’t care, he doesn’t need to do that work.

Ooh... I have never had linguisa on a pie before, but now I want it.

This thread is awesome. Dragonborn analogous to pineapple and ham! I couldn't make this stuff up. But it is a solid analogy. I agree, 5e's PHB has them in for a reason, so most DM's that just use the PHB should let them in, unless you have a curated world.
Is agree, although I kinda hate the phrase “curated world”.

Wait what? How? It’s a combination of flavors. If pizza casserole wants in on the fun, I’m all for it.

But there is no such thing as deep dish pizza. It’s casserole, not pizza.

I really just find it very difficult to understand someone who only has ONE character that they want to play. It just seems completely alien to me. For every character I do get to play there are dozens that I don't.
I did have one player who pretty much just wanted to play an elven ranger. If his current one died, then a second elven ranger with a different name (or maybe the same name but with "the 2nd" appended to it) would have shown up.

I had a guy who was much more flexible. Every PC he played in every edition (going back to 3.x) was either a male halfling rogue or female drow sorcerer. I will give him credit, in my home campaign he was willing to play a female human sorcerer since I don't allow drow.
