D&D 5E 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

There's long been the possibility of a high-level rogue happening to be within 10' of him and automatically noticing him. But, I haven't been getting into that.

Wrong. Acting against the PCs is initiating combat, so we roll Initiative.

There's a good chance the CW isn't the first to act.
I strongly disagree.
they are not involved in combat, because they can't see nothing. :geek::geek: No initive rolls. Also, It doesn't matter, they can't see nothing.
The CW is imperceptible and also his spells.

Yes, the combat never started against imperceptible creature and effects.
Only the CW acts.
If you're attacking creatures, it's combat, and you roll initiative. If you've been playing 5e where ambushing enemies get a free round before initiative is rolled, you've been playing it wrong.

This has nothing to do with a CW wizard. If the wizard casts Greater Invisibility on a Rogue, and the Rogue sneaks off to solo some bugbears, everyone rolls initiative before his first attack. It has nothing to do with what you can see or perceive.

Subtle Spells can't be counterspell.
Also, the CW is casting spells hidden.
The bard cannot see or detect the bastion.
The Bard can't do nothing.
The Bastion just Subtle Dominate Person on his.
It's now my allie.
That's why I asked what your likely options were, once the party started to scatter and it was clear the ambush wasn't working. There's someone with wings flying up in one direction, a gnome on a pegasus maybe flying up in another, a Goliath on a broom slowly ascending, and other people moving around on the ground.

I'm not making stuff up, here--this party frequently ends up with multiple Initative scores above 20.

I'm not attacking. I'm casting subtle spells that is imperceptivel and doesn't reveal the CW.

The DM gets to decide that, based on the DM's understanding of the spells in question.

They can't see the CW cast, but the spells themselves might well be perceptible.

Not, his spells are totally imperceptible.
Subtle Dominate Person, or Subtle Mass suggestion and force them to fight against themself.

Play a game and call your DM an initiative check against against imperceptible creatures. 😂😂😂
The DM Will laught.

I don't know what it means to "laught", but if it's anything like laughing then the DM you are imagining, who would not only not allow someone a turn in a turn-based game before their character was killed and would laugh at them for thinking they should get one, is just awful.

If this is the behavior you expect out of DMs then I find that troubling. It sounds like you've been playing in a rather toxic environment.

If you DM allows you roll initiave against something imperceptible. You have lucky. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:. It will be a strange scene.
