Except that the DM decides when you can attempt to hide. The reason this rule was written is to allow one to enter a room, look at a table and leave the room without making 3 checks. Because successive checks leads to automatic failure. It isn't made to allow stupid situation like the one you want, claiming to be able to roll in the morning when you cast all the spells temporarily giving you bonus and keeping them all day long, even after the spell giving the modifier expired. To prevent this silly situation from coming up, the rules said that the DM decides when one can roll for Stealth, not the player.
Still, you didn't post a complete build, so your roll is roughly around 5.
If the players are moving stealthily up a corridor, I don't even have them roll until they encounter bad guys. So if I'm DM, and you're sneaking up on a bugbear camp or whatever, it doesn't matter in the slightest what spells you had up earlier. You didn't roll your check until I say, something like, "You hear bugbears discussing the latest advances in biomedical research around the corner."
