D&D 5E 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

hilarious scene .:

DM: Roll initiative
Player: OK, i win
DM: What are you going to do?
Player: What do I see?
DM: Nothing
Player: What's going on?
DM: You don't know.
Player: ???
DM: what are you going to do?
Player: I know the wtf.
Actually, it kinda does work like that. The characters going before the ambush that's triggering the initiative roll can move and do things (Ready springs to mind) before the opposition, and they have their reactions available to them.

Imperceptible, for the victim, nothing happens. It isn't involved in combat.
Then I guess you're not targeting your target? Because it's a curious definition of "target" that doesn't involve it in the combat.

Ahahahhaa, it will be funny. If you act differently than you were doing before.

Why?? Because nothing happened to you.

Ahahah Simple as that, do not make things difficult guys.

Dude you still didn't realize, that your DM allows this kind of hilarious scene, Bastion will still kill you ahhaa.

I cast the spell when the trigger happed.

No, it is explicitely mentionned with Contingency spell:

You cast that spell—called the contingent spell—as part of casting contingency

That's why it's needed to define the spells at this time, and have them occur only when the triggers occurs. Effects are delayed, but the spell is wholly cast as part of the casting of the Contingency spell.

You've never actually played a game of D&D, have you? This is not at all how ambushes by hidden attackers go down.

You're the one attempting to make things difficult, by refusing to accept that the rules say what they say and work as they work. Which is ... plausible, if you want to houserule things, but you don't get to bring your houserules to this and expect everyone else to be OK with them. I'm sure most of the posters in the thread are DMs, and I'm sure they have houserules (I do), but I don't think I've seen anyone other than you attempt to bring those houserules into this thread.
