D&D 5E Ray Winninger mentions third project!

WotC's Ray Winniger has confirmed that another D&D release, by James Wyatt, will be released in between Witchlight (September) and Strixhaven (November). Strixhaven was Amanda Hamon's project, while Witchlight is Chris Perkins'. That assumes he's not referring to the Feywild accessory kit in September. A lot of people are asking Qs about the [D&D] releases for the rest of this year. Yes...

Yes, WILD BEYOND THE WITCHLIGHT is the [Chris Perkins] story product I referenced in our dev blog. STRIXHAVEN is [Amanda Hamon's] project. We have not yet announced [James Wyatt's] project, which releases between WITCHLIGHT and STRIXHAVEN.

Why did we announce STRIXHAVEN so early? Pretty simple--there was no way to release the STRIX-related Unearthed Arcana without letting the cat out of the bag.

You'll learn a lot more about all of these products at D&D Live on G4, July 16 and 17. And yes, there is still a little surprise or two ahead.

I could easily see Io's Blood Isles and Dragon Mountain being republished ... inside the 5E Draconomicon. Give them each a page or so and a map and then let DMs Guild get to work on a fuller conversion.
One thing Volo's did that I missed in Mordenkainen's: maps to serve as sample lair dungeon the various baddies. Giving each Dragon a sample dungeon would be awesome.

Personally, if they went in that direction, I say do a whole chapter for "dragon" settings and give each one about 3 to 5 pages. Do it like they did with the Domains in the new Ravenloft book.

They could throw in Dragonlance too and could toss in an appropriate MtG dragon setting. I'm assuming there would be one that could be added to such a book. And maybe add a truly new setting (unrelated to MtG), as well, that fills a specific niche. It could be its own chapter.

Then, open up all those settings to the DMs Guild. :)

I forgot Tales of the Comet. That setting would be a great way to create a more "D&D with high tech" setting without having to revise Gamma World again. Sure, I'd love a new Gamma World revision... just don't do it like the 4E version. It would need a major playtest of all aspects of the setting and its own core rulebook in addition to the setting for me to consider such a revision.

WotC could use the same format for new sourcebooks based on specific niches such as historical, environmental, etc.

You could have a revised Sandstorm book that includes a chapter for various classic desert-based settings that exist such as Amonkhet (from MtG), Anauroch (from FR), Dark Sun, Sind (from Mystara), etc.

There is a little trick to promote Greyhawk and Mystara. They are the oldest lines, and then these could appear as "product emplacement" in some production set in the 80's, for example Stranger Things.

A module or adventure compilation wouldn't need previous playtest in UA articles.
But why? I'm sorry, but this is all mostly wish-fulfillment for fans of these settings. I could see them doing Greyhawk as the iconic old school setting, but Mystara? I just don't see it happening, except as either within a Worlds of D&D book or maybe by a third party. Mystara doesn't add anything new to the 5E's thematic coverage, except for elves with mustaches.
