D&D 5E D&D Live Schedule - Unannounced Book Reveal July 16th

The October unannounced book first mentioned by WotC's Ray Winninger in June will be revealed at 3pm ET (8pm BST) on Friday. This book joins The Wild Beyond the Witchlight and Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos as the next three official D&D releases this year.

Sorry… honest question. Why do you not think that it could not be that exact module?

Not sure about him, but I would say because everything being played is for 5th Ed and everything looks to be tied to an upcoming release or a recent release. This Palace of the Vampire Queen is probably tied to the new Ravenloft book.

Mostly because it's a module not produced by either WotC or TSR (the original, not these knockoffs).

I find it unlikely that B Dave would go to the D&D Team and say "Hey, that game you want me to host for your biggest event of the year... can I use a module that's very old but also one you didn't make?" Seems like something they wouldn't approve of.

Plus, it's an old school dungeon which I don't think translates well to these streaming events.

At these events in the past, DMs have run all sorts of stuff that has not been official WotC material for these celebrity games.

However, I doubt it’s the original Palace of the Vampire Queen simply because that adventure is too long to run in the time available.

As much as I would love to see Dark Sun this year, this book won't be Dark Sun. If I remember correctly, the next two classic settings are releasing next year.

Monster book with lots of dragons is very likely!

Oh! That might make it a bit more likely. I still doubt it, just because it's a big dungeon and I don't think they'd be able to do more than a fraction of it, and these games tend to want a more conclusive end. But that explains why they at least allowed the name.
