This, along with all the major news coverage that D&D is getting, will hopefully mean that their will be an increased willingness and urgency to release a D&D movie.

Increased willingness is good. Increased urgency, not so good. That usually leads to slipshod rushed work. Hopefully it will mean an increased desire to make a good D&D movie.

Unlikely, IMO. But I'm cynical.

My wife and I got our backer rewards today. I'm waiting until they get home from work to open the boxes--we're gonna hang some lights and drink cocktails and pretend it's a fake holiday called "Critmas" just like every other perfectly normal person would do--but here's what they look like. Mine is the white blister-wrap envelope, and theirs is the giant cardboard box. The PHB is for scale.

I backed Critical Role's project at the "Guardian" level, so I'm expecting a deck of cards, a set of dice, a pack of stickers, an art print, and some download keys for music. My wife backed it at "Protector," so they are getting the big box with everything I'm getting plus a stuffed animal, messenger bag, and a set of enamel pins.

I didn't go back to check all of the physical rewards that we are also getting from the stretch goals, but judging from the size of these packages? It's a considerable amount of stuff.

I don't even want to know what these unopened packages are selling for on eBay. I dare not check.

Will you get to watch the show sooner too?

Yep. All Kickstarter backers will be the first to watch both seasons on Amazon Prime Video. But the specifics are vague and they don't have any release dates at this time. My gut tells me that Kickstarter backers will get to watch it 2-3 weeks before it's released for wider access, but I don't have an official statement or anything. All they've actually said is that "backers will be the first to watch" both seasons.
