Eltab

Lord of the Hidden Layer
The Ranger with Outlander background, favored terrain: the area around here, and trained in Survival ... who keeps rolling 1s and 2s on his "condense the overland travel so we can get to the next Important Location" rolls.

Why does he get lost on the road only when the other PCs are around and the fate of the world is hanging in the balance?

Eltab

Lord of the Hidden Layer
If you just kill the evil leader, the whole conflict consuming the kingdom or the continent will immediately solve itself.
After you kill the evil leader, you discover his Grand Vizier ("power behind the throne" guy) is the real BBEG; he now knows your tactics and resources and prepares accordingly.
