He is also wearing it in the Avengers: Endgame footage earlier in the trailer. I think it's a communication earbud. In the trailer it looks like his family are being escorted away by agents in this scene, so it seems like he has been given a mission and the comm unit is part of it.
Clint has not been shown to be deaf/hard of hearing in the MCU so far, so they would have to explain it. I really liked the Hawkeye mini series where he lost most of his hearing. It was a clever plot device and showed Clint to be smart. It would be neat if they adapted that tale (or aspects of it) into the MCU, but I don't see them doing so in this series.

he was probably the least interesting avenger (movie wise) and will probably have a weak rogues gallery. Will this even be better than green arrow on tv. Yes it will have bigger explosion etc but will the character be interesting? in the movies he has barely any personality
Ive seen most of Renners movies and he basically plays the same type of character (not super likeable, cautious but has good action skills)

Each superhero property, medium, and continuity has to decide how it is going to meld the characters who can move worlds, those who can control fire or just fly, and those who are just extra capable normal people. Sometimes that can change even within the same property across time or personality. In the MCU Black Widow and even moreso Captain America are treated as valiant for running into the fray of gods and inventors in suits which almost make them gods, while Hawkeye (plus Starlord, it should be mentioned) is more treated as being a bit of a buttmonkey for the same (to be fair, this is mostly done in comedic commentary on the MCU like Renner's turn on SNL, or in Whedon's time in the director's chair where Hawkeye naturally takes on some Xander Harris qualities). The DCU does this all with one character -- Batman is super cool for mixing in with Superman and all the rest... excepting when he's not and portrayed as being in effect a creaking aging athlete who doesn't know when to give it up (plus money). I think it perfectly reasonable to see either 'cool valiant super-normal' or 'walking punchline' in MCU Hawkeye, because I think they are both there.
Billd91 is right about this being more Ultimates Hawkeye than traditional comics Hawkeye -- in part I think because by they time he was introduced, Robert Downey Jr. had already taken many of the fun parts of comics Hawkeye and imported them into his Tony Stark character (and nothing is worse than being 'the second quippy one' or the like).
I don't know if this show can rehab Hawkeye (regardless of whether he needs it), but I'm all for another more grounded series (alongside Falcon and Winter Soldier). Maybe we can even have a finale without a CGI skybeam.
I would love it if he doesn't get recognized as one of the Avengers, and desperately tries to argue that he's 'that Hawkeye guy from TV' to the guy he's sitting next to somewhere portrayed by Alan Alda.

Okay, I'm sold!
I've not read the comicbook Avengers in any era, but it makes sense to draw from the Ultimates stuff, that was largely where I'd heard all of the chars took their inspiration.
As for family arguing, I expect we will have some conflict there. He's supposed to be with his family for x-mas and he has to leave to track down a vigilante. Whom he spends the rest of x-mas with, presumably helping her become a better hero, and such. Seems like somebody back home ought to object to that.

Re: the family arguing. In the Ultimates, before they're killed, Hawkeye has a wife and kids - and those relationships are generally happy like in the MCU. In fact, their deaths drive him into ultra violence and depression. Just like the MCU.
Hawkeye, in the traditional Marvel setting, marries Mockingbird and it's hard to say the relationship is a happy one for very long (which is largely Hawkeye's fault, as I see it).
As far as the MCU characters being drawn from The Ultimates, it depends. There are elements of Tony Stark that are Ultimate-inspired such as using humor to hide his own anxieties and traumas and Hawkeye, as I've mentioned before, as well as Black Widow and Hawkeye's long standing relationship as teamed operatives (rather than lovers). But Cap, Hulk, and Thor are all 616-continuity versions with little Ultimate influence (other than Hulk being the product of attempts to recreate the super-soldier formula rather than a gamma bomb).
