Ha! My bestie recently got into Ravenloft because Gothic Horror is her jam, so I'm planning to run it in LU myself eventually, since I refuse to touch, let alone DM, 5e with a Reach Weapon.

It is really disappointing to hear that there's not already plans for followthrough. Really hope it's successful enough to justify it for you guys. o5e content is a MESS, and having actually designed alternatives that o5e fans can enjoy without me having to touch it is the big draw of Level Up. I try my best to be diplomatic and not just constantly dunk on o5e here, but I think there's important context here. I think that there's a lot more room to grow for LU, especially as both a midpoint for 5e lovers and haters to play together, and as a gentle bridge out of o5e. o5e seems to have far more gravity than most systems as far as making it harder to move from o5e to another more developed system than it is to start from scratch. I have consistently suggested LU to people whose parties seem split between wanting to play o5e and Pathfinder 2e. Being able to learn the aspects that should be expected in a modern non-narrative focused system, like an actual economy, choices after 3rd level, and having tactical options as a Martial charcter are a lot less daunting when not also learning an entirely new game system on top of it.

Sorry, got a bit rambly but just wanted to state some of why I'm really hoping for LU to carry on as a persistent system. Really looking forward to the Kickstarter and hopefully watching those goals FLY by :D

I'm just excited for the stuff we're getting. I'm going to be throwing money down day 1 so I can get those pdfs pronto. If we get more books, fantastic (I've literally never been excited about a monster book until now, so more of those would be very welcome) and if not, that's fine too. As an artist, there's also something to be said for knowing when your creation, and also your attachment to it, has run its course.

We're already getting a delicious 5 course meal. I'm not worried about breakfast yet.
