If the autognome survives the UA fase and sees print, I'll probably hamebrew my warforgeds to be constructs with similar features
Honestly that seems like a great idea/bases for any Construct race, even if the Autognome doesn't survive the UA. Heck, the Reborn resistances can totally be used for Undead pc races. and it's a lot better model to use than the Dhampir's version.

Maybe a caster? wizard sorcerer and warlock may use it
Actually, wait, still no. Casters don’t necessarily need to wear anything, but they do need to carry either a spellcasting focus or material components. Currently monk is really the only class that can take full advantage of amorphous without losing functionality in other areas. Which, fair enough I guess, but I still think some limited natural armor and/or a natural weapon would be a good addition to the ancestry.

So plasmoids...

"Amorphous. You can squeeze through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide, provided you are wearing and carrying nothing. You also have advantage on ability checks you make to initiate or escape a grapple."

Natural shapeshifting grapplers...I foresee a lot of DMs having to look up the suffocation rules as players decide to grapple a target's face and forming around their heads.

A Plasmoid caster should be able to "store" said Arcane Focus in its body.

sure, but a wand will be pretty easy to carry around, even by pseudopod if needed.
