Looks like Spelljammer and/or Planescape is back on the menu!

I don't know if the wording is clear enough to state that with certainty. Because if it's still a part of you, nothing says you cant cast spell through it. you could drop your wand, go trough the door, grab the wand with the pod and fire your spells with it.
"You can use this pseudopod to manipulate an object, open an unlocked door or container, stow or retrieve an item from an open container, or pour out the contents of a container. The pseudopod can’t attack, activate magic items, or carry more than 10 pounds."

It's not on the list of things you can do. But it's also not on the list of things you can't do. If I were running that as written, I'd say no you can't cast through the psuedopod.

Excited about the potential spelljammer.

Gutted about the new playable species format. The things which make them unique and interesting are just being thrown out.

Huh? They threw out the way stats were done for the races (+ to specific stats).

This means players WILL NOT pick a race for the specific stat bumps but instead FOR the unique and interesting other stuff the race will offer. This will hopefully allow for more interesting stuff with races not less.

No, idea how much of this UA stuff will make it into "official" content, but it certainly seems the races presented have some VERY unique and interesting features.

Yeah yeah, it would never fly as an effective combat manuever... BUT, I'd happly allow one of the psychos at my table to murder some random guard with this in a case where asking for initiative would be just a bother.
Surefire way to muffle any sounds they make. Stuff your plasmoid self into their mouth as you're wrapping around their face.

Probably a scheduling thing.

For example, let's say the Boo/Beholder cover is for this Spelljammer book. Crawford needs to start releasing UA rules for the book now, so they can see survey results and tweak them based on feedback. But the covers for this book are not entirely ready yet (the Boo cover was just a sketch so far). So they can't announce the book today, but the do need to release UA today.

Instead, the release the UA under the "Travelers of the Multiverse" name. Once the covers are done, they'll make the announcement. They may have not even settled on a release day yet, because of the shipping crisis.

That said, we'll probably get an announcement this month. Just look out for the placeholder on Amazon!

Or they aren't the same product, they don't actually need the cover to make the announcement, they just keep the place holder still they are ready or hold back the UA for a week or so until they are ready to make the announcement.
