For those of you who are into the Blood of Vol sacred tradition, some questions:
The Undying elves use positivity (~ the positive energy plane) rather than negativity to empower their Undead ancestors. In a weird way, they seem not Undead, in the sense that I associate the Shadowfell with negativity, not positivity. How do you understand this positivity?
Now, I assume the Blood of Vol uses standard negativity for its Undead. But its origin among elves suggests the possibility of positive Undead. Are the Vol Undead negative, positive, or able to be either?
I get how the Undead lack blood thus are nondivine according to the worldview of the Blood seekers, thus are martyrs rather than ideals. But the tradition strives to attain a this-worldly immortality while still alive. How exactly does one attain this immortality - especially when it doesnt involve becoming Undead?
The alignment descriptor for the Blood of Vol sacred tradition lists Lawful Neutral. I can see how the Crimson not-bishops tend toward Lawful Evil, in their conspiracy with the lich queen. However the tenants of the Blood and the behavior of its adherents seem strongly Chaotic Neutral to me, pursuing personal immortality, ideosyncratic devotions and personal choice of holy symbol, and individual authority ... while largely unaware of the Crimson conspiracy. How do you understand the alignment of the sacred tradition as a whole, and how does it affect the behavior of the institution and its members?
