Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

The latest Unearthed Arcana has arrived and the 6-page document contains rules for kender, lunar magic, Knights of Solamnia, and Mages of High Sorcery.

In today’s Unearthed Arcana, we explore character options from the Dragonlance setting. This playtest document presents the kender race, the Lunar Magic sorcerer subclass, the Knight of Solamnia and Mage of High Sorcery backgrounds, and a collection of new feats, all for use in Dungeons & Dragons.

Kender have a (surprisingly magical) ability to pull things out of a bag, and a supernatural taunt feature. This magical ability appears to replace the older 'kleptomania' description -- "Unknown to most mortals, a magical phenomenon surrounds a kender. Spurred by their curiosity and love for trinkets, curios, and keepsakes, a kender’s pouches or pockets will be magically filled with these objects. No one knows where these objects come from, not even the kender. This has led many kender to be mislabeled as thieves when they fish these items out of their pockets."

Lunar Magic is a sorcerer subclass which draws power from the moon(s); there are notes for using it in Eberron.

Also included are feats such as Adepts of the Black, White, and Red Robes, and Knights of the Sword, Rose, and Crown.

Since the last pages of this thread is filled with heresy and propaganda, I might have to clear something up: Timothy Dalton's Bond is the emperor and savior of Bonddom. He took doubleohsevenness to unseen heights and shall forever be known as ruler and master over past, present and future Bonds - they will pale and tremble in His Daltonic shadow for eternity.
Talk about heresy...David Niven is the only true James Bond.

I didn't think Timothy Dalton wasn't that bad as all as Bond. Course, Roger Moore was always my fave. But then, my dad had a collection of all the James Bond videotapes when I was growing up and I remember most of the ones I would watch were the Roger Moore Bond movies.

Now to remain on topic: How would Q or Bond respond to Kenders? the same way or would they somehow end up pulling through for Bond in the end?

No one should do it, because of the negative connotations it carries in the real world. Real-world people are more important than an imaginary game we play. We really don't lose anything by such a concept not being in a published work by a particular game company. You're free to include it in your own games if you like.

That's what you're missing - the association of Romani with thievery is so strong that any race of people who are all thieves are implicitly tied to that view. It sucks, but it's a fact. And as a publisher, you have to consider that fact. WotC can't pretend that association doesn't exist in reality.
Out of interest, as this is the first thread I have seen this association between Kender and Romani, have the Romani people as a collective raised an issue about this and if so could you provide us a link please?

People don't do anything as a collective, but I've seen individual Romani object. I don't know if any filed a formal complaint with the Grand Poobah of Gaming.

I'm not sure how TSR, Wizards of the Coast or even the authors become the Grand Poobah of Gaming but ok :ROFLMAO:
I noted that the offence didn't even make it to Wikipedia.
