D&D 5E Kobolds are also from the Feywild now?

You did read about the spell plague yeah? It was really the only world where they had anything moving forward or backward since Eberron is a frozen start date. The spell plague was the changes and ever since 3e the planes were, in FR for example, not the Great Wheel. None of the settings used the Great Wheel in 3.x. Except Greyhawk.
Hottest of takes: I liked the Spellplague. I thought it was a cool idea and I wish they did more with it.

FWIW, I have no strong feelings about FR one way or another.

The core books are being rewritten potentially as we speak. You don't think that First World stuff they're so excited about will be in there?
One book is not a “so excited about” especially when it’s a poem on two pages that would be the equivalent of a paragraph or two. It’s not that big a part of the book. It’s no different than devoting a paragraph or two to Maglubiyet’s version of how the world was created or the elven creation myths vs the Dwarven myths. Just some people getting their Bill Clinton’s knotted up over a new chunk of lore after the whole “there isn’t a canon comment” which wasn’t “if it wasn’t published in 5e it isn’t canon” or “if we say it it is canon”. It was of the spirit of “your game is canon” and they clarified that about a dozen times.

I honestly will never understand why people care so much about a game setting's canon. It's not like a game world is a fully-written setting like that in a movie, TV show, or comic book series, where the viewer has no actual input on what happens. Even if every single DM were to run only "official modules" and never make any alterations to them--and that will never happen--there will be so many differences in the events of those modules, because of the players and die rolls. Nobody's game will ever match the canon, and may go off on radically different directions. Even if the players were to play the characters from the lore, things would change. And if you don't stick with the lore, then the next book that comes out that adheres to it will be even harder to integrate into your campaign.

The lore is fun to read, sure, but to adhere to?
They were fun to read. I got really into D&D specifically because of all those campaign setting stories, and the detailed worlds. Then they just decided those stories were over, and replaced them with stuff I don't like as much. Simple as that, really.

There is an entire thread on this site dedicated to talking about the First World and collecting all the information about it. Creating a new, official grand unified theory of D&D is going to matter to a fair number of people. For your sake, I'm happy for you that you're not among them and don't care about this.

Yeah but it doesn’t do that so it’s really a moot point.
