D&D 5E Commander Legends: Battle For Baldur's Gate Huge Leak: Spoiler Alert

Plus in some tic tok videos there are more spoilers. We now have most of the key mechanics for the set spoiled.

Initiative is like Monarch and Venture into the Dungeon had a baby. You can take the Initiative (which is a Monach like card), when starts or continues you Venturing into Undercity (unlike you've already started Venturing into a Dungeon in which case you continue moving thru that Dungeon until competed) and once you already have the Initiative you keep Venturing during your upkeep or when something let's you take the Initiative (you can take it still when you already have it.

Backgrounds are Legendary Enchantments that buff your Commander (and sometimes they do other stuff as well), that can be your Commander if you also choose a Legendary Creature with Choose a Background.

One card had Myrid mechanic on it, but I don't know if that is a Precon card or in the main part of the set.

The return of Dice confirmed.

Return of Modal cards & treasures like AFR.

Adventures are confirmed to be returning. This should please Eldraine fans.

Bhaal is in the set and in Riveteer colours (Black, Red, Green) and has indestructible if you only have half your starting life left or less. When your creatures die, put a + 1/1 counter on a creature and Goad it. I'm curious if this unique approach to Indestructable will be a common trait of Gods in this set.

Most of the reveled Legends have somekind of tie to BG, (BG1, 2, 3 characters as well as Descent: Into Avernus). Imoen, Mizzy, Jen Janson, Jheria (indirectly mentioned), and Savatork (BG1 Bad guy) are back along side BG3 characters like Lae'zel, Gale, Wyll (indirectly mentioned), Raphael from BG3. No new Planeswalkers spoiled.

Red gets a redirect spell with dice rolling that is spicy, named after Wyll.

A red dragon that basically turns all your Dragons into taunting basher.

Just so much to digest.

Oh text plothook basic lands are back and the set has its own version of Gate Lands. One Legendary Creature collects gates, which suggests the set has at least 9 of them.

Wizards of Thay is a card, it's the one with Myriad.

Raphael (R/B) batches Demons, Devils, Tieflings, and Imps, gives them +1 and Lifelink.

So far looking mechanically very fun set, sooooo excited for it and it's a Arena sister set, Alchemy Horizons: Baldur's Gate.

Yeah I actually thought of that dozing off last night lol.

Why he would be Jund, makes completely no sense to me.

Yeah looking at the card, its just so arbitrary. Dont like it.

I think it's so he dove tails with the Riveteers in New Capenna or maybe ALL the Gods in this set are three colours as a Theme, which means they went with the least objectionable 3 colour.

Another thing I noticed is that Lae'zel not only add an extra counter to your creatures and planeswalkers, but to her player as well, which suggests Experience Counters are coming back for this set as well (which feels very in theme and cool).

Yeah, probably right, but I'm not a fan of that kind of thing either. Green has nothing to do with Assassination, or Murder. Its nonsense. Is it because of the +1/+1 counter? Probably.

I mean mechanically, he should be RG...

I love Mazzy though. If they have all the BG 2 companions I will get those for sure. Give me my boy Korgan!

At least some of them will be in.

I've heard it suggested that Bhaal has green because of how he treated his children the Bhaalspawn, survival of the fittest. When put like that, it makes sense.

Plus if I remember correctly he has a more primal, beastly form in the Moonshaes I think.

Anyways I think an Enchantress deck with say that MH2 Nymph that gives a life & card draw when you play an enchantment, using Backgrounds to buff her could be fun.

Alot of folks are obsessing about the Gate Lands in the set and a Gate theme Commander as well.

I personally am more interested in Gale, Lae'zel, Raphael Fiendish Savior, and Imoen.

The set looks sweet. I enjoyed the first Commander Legends a lot, to the point I've thought of building a cube to be able to redraft it.

This is because Gates used to be only a Ravnica thing, and there's an alternate win-con card called "Maze's End", but to pull that off in Commander required a 5C Commander (in order to get the 10 gates required to satisfy the condition), and this Gate commander is Sultai (Green, Blue and Black) ... so the question is whether or not there will be enough new Gates so they can use Maze's End as a win con.
