D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana: Wonders of the Multiverse

WotC has posted a new Unearthed Arcana featuring the Glitchling race, the Fate domain, and a handful of backgrounds, feats and spells.

In today’s Unearthed Arcana, we explore D&D character options from across the multiverse. This playtest document presents the glitchling race; the Fate Domain cleric subclass; and the gate warden, giant foundling, planar philosopher, and rune carver backgrounds. Additionally, a collection of new feats provide links to giants and other primordial forces of the planes, while a selection of new spells highlight the power of fate and chance.

called it! woohoo! given what aspects they're focusing on in UA I think they're going to start with Planes on the Lawful side of the Wheel.
Not sure why you'd think the lawful side of the wheel is where they are gonna start when the UA has options for good, evil, chaos, outlands/neutral, and the inner planes as additional options.

I was staring at the Cleric domain and I don’t feel like all the little ways to give bonus and penalties really convey the theme. What about letting the Fate Cleric cast a certain number of d20s (3?) at the beginning of the day and then keep those rolls. Let’s call them fate dice. At any point during the day they can then substitute a roll with one of those values as a reaction. To build on that you could have them re-roll or regenerate a fate dice when they use a spell slot to cast a divination spell, representing that they gain foresight they can use to alter fate. TLDR; Fate Cleric should be able to substitute a clutch nat 20 (or nat 1) into a roll and then say “It was Fated” Nevermind, I forgot that Divination Wizard exists.

Instead, 5E has multiple psionic subclasses in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything: the fighter's Psi Warrior, the monk's Way of the Astral Self, the rogue's Soul Knife, the sorcerer's Aberrant Mind...

Does 5E really need a dedicated psionics class? It seems like all the bases are covered.
I get that you and others are happy. Some aren't, and wish WotC had done things differently. Its not helpful to look at what they gave us and say, "we all don't really need anything more. Right?". You're happy, others aren't, and you don't speak for everyone.

I think I'm like many others hear in regard to the fate cleric. It just doesn't seem super interesting.

Like others here, I think I'm gonna repurpose the glitchling into the rogue modron, and then make a few unique items for it from the old torment game that I can scatter around for any players of them.

I really quite like the feats and the base feat leading into another thematic feat choice at 4th. Planar wanderer also makes reference to portal keys which were a core part of planescape.

I didn't really look too hard at the spells. Spray of cards could probably do with a damage increase for higher levels and I kind of feel like it should deal slashing rather than force damage, but otherwise they look okay.

Why do you think they decided to create thr Glitchling instead of just making this the Rogue Modron race?

My guess is Glitchlings aren't exclusive to Mechanus, but rather all lawful planes and they aren't modrons, because otherwise Primus would be hunting them down to recycle them if they were rogue modrons.

I think it's because WotC is constantly threading the needle between having mechanics that mean something and letting players have characters look however they want no matter what the rules say. Asthetics are a huge draw nowadays. They might have pulled it off this time.
