Sure, but that still doesn’t explain why the river—which, decades after the disaster, is still shown on several recent maps (and in the still-active MMO) as flowing to the south of Castle Never—suddenly has started flowing to the castle’s north instead.

Because moving a castle or redirecting a river was a bit outside of the budget. (I'm not sure how much those citscapes are CGI'd, but I imagine the river couldn't be)

And, while I do see this as feeling a lot like marvel... it isn't marvel.
This was the only bit that screamed Marvel to me:

And to be honest, when I'm playing a melee warrior-type PC, I love doing this sort of "leap onto the giant monster" maneuver.

Do you remember the stupid double bladed sword they added to the equipment list for 3rd edition? The double bladed sword that was only there because a certain Darth Maul wielded a double bladed lightsaber in The Phantom Menace? What are the odds that druids don't get the ability to shift into an owlbear form in the near future? I think we're going to see this in the game at some point in the future.
Based on recent designs, I would expect in the future that Wikdshape will just provide a generic block and say "make it look however you feel like."

Let's be honest here. There couldn't possibly be a better time for a D&D movie to hit the theaters. The stars and the moons have all aligned perfectly here. Massive growth in D&D, huge interest all over the place, more people playing than ever before.

So long as this movie isn't crap, we're going to see a pretty solid hit on our hands and quite likely a series.
