What are the odds that druids don't get the ability to shift into an owlbear form in the near future? I think we're going to see this in the game at some point in the future.
Yeah, while the film won't be at all bound to anything from the tabletop game, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the tabletop game change to match the film. Gotta keep the brand in mind.

Found it odd that the acid apparently loses all effect once it lands in the ground and people and animals walk over it.

Looks like fun. Kind of wish the characters WHERE their classes and not people playing a class. Th Barbarian didn’t act like a Barbarian aside from wears no armor and has a big axe. The Bard is a bard because.. he plays a lute and is apparently charismatic.

They are all people being themselves playing a class. Which I guess is D&D.
I think I need more than a trailer to reach that conclusion.

I'm not so sure how I feel about the trailer.

It isn't...impressive???

Mixed comments from others that I've seen online as well (from those who are NOT rabid D&D fans that is).

Some calling it a copycat for Marvel (that's not necessarily a BAD thing...but if people FEEL it's a copycat rather than authentic, that may be).

Others still remembering the old D&D films of the past and confusing this with them.

Others liking what they see.

It could be fun, I'm not sure what I think of it thus far.

You know though, for a lot of us who are rabid fans, even if the movie is middle of the road... that's amazing. Expectations for DnD movies have been cut under again and again and again, that seriously even if non-gamer audiences leave it and are like "eh, it was a fine movie, but nothing special" the DnD community will be dancing in the streets.

And, while I do see this as feeling a lot like marvel... it isn't marvel. And there are little things I see here and there that make me feel like this movie is going to be really fun. Maybe not perfect, definetly not best movie of the year, but it will be a solid and fun movie that I think audiences will respond to.
