D&D 5E How Many PHB's have you bought?

Hardcopy? Just one.

But my group uses D&D Beyond, and the copy I bought there effectively covers five people beyond myself.

I've purchased three, but only one was for my personal use. I bought my friend a copy back on 2014 cause he was down on his luck at the time, and I bought the alt cover set to resell for a profit (and succeeded!).

I bought 2 of them. One I had preordered on Amazon prior to release, but once it became available in stores (back when the stores had them 2 weeks earlier) I grabbed one from a local store because I didn't want to wait. I still ended up getting the one from Amazon, but I passed it to a buddy of mine who couldn't get it yet.

Actually, scratch that. I bought a third one for my brother-in-law for Christmas before the pandemic started.

I bought one for myself, ripped off the binding, and scanned it so I have a bookmarked, digital copy.

I bought one hard copy when it first came out, and a second to replace it after the first one fell apart. That’s all so far.

I bought one for personal use. I bought one more each for my 2 kids as they picked up the game, but since those aren’t for my personal use, I’m not counting them in my survey response.

The original one I bought fell apart, so bought a replacement. Bought a third (the deluxe foil set) for my wife.

If we start getting into the other PHBs (this thread is only asking about the 5e one), I'd played D&D before, but not with my own books, and I bought the 2nd Ed PHB the week it released ('89) and then by '93 I had my own store, so I've had every PHB since then the day of release (or earlier). The black 2nd Ed one, 3.0, 3.5. 4e(s). 5e. Devoured them the first chance I got!
