Per the thread rules, I speak only about 5e: I bought one copy in 2020, hard-bound because I read more patiently and closely when it's on paper.

Well, I wanted to make sure every player at my table could have simultaneous access to the PHB when at my table, so I bought one. Digital on FG. Don't have to worry about it falling apart. It gets updated with errata automatically. And everyone at the table gets to access it at once. Love it.

One, maybe zero. I can't remember if I got my copy as a gift or bought it myself.

It adds to my 4e, 3.5, 3.0, 2e, and 1e ones. 1e and 3.5 were gifts, I purchased 2e, 3.0, and 4e myself. I also purchased PDFs of the 1e, 2e, 3.5, and 4e PHs.

1989: Player's Handbook for 2nd edition AD&D.
1995: Players Handbook (Revised) for 2nd edition AD&D.
2000: Player's Handbook for 3rd edition D&D.
2014: Player's Handbook for 5th edition D&D.
This is what I initially thought the question asked, and that resulted in lot of "ticking off numbers on my fingers." If we do this:
2 x 1E, both inherited, since passed on to others
1 x 2E (first cover) probably the one I flipped through the most, also since passed on.
1 x 2E (second cover), because I go through waves of "completism," also gone.
1 x 3e, eBay'ed after the switch to 3.5
2 x 3.5, one hardcover, one softcover. I THINK I eBay'ed both.
1 Pathfinder CRB
1 x 4E, still on gaming shelf
2 x 5E, one print, one digital (digital was 1/2 off w/ Phandelver code--I think that was the deal, right?). To stay on topic, I BARELY look at the print copy and use DnDBeyond for everything.
