D&D 5E New Baldur's Gate 3 Video

WotC did that, not Larian Studios, and I still don't think it's a Battleforce Angel, it's just more likely then Planetar, Solars, or Devas, I still think it's a Aasimar.

Folks keep pointing out that the wings on both of Aasimar are not spectral, they are solid, but video I just watched pointed out that Larian Studios will want to make the Aasimar visually distinct as the Tieflings are, what if the wings are permanent parts of the Aasimar model to give them a distinct look equal to the Tieflings tail & horns?

Meh. I've never liked the 4e Tiefling anyway.

I just cant with this game. Reinstalled it yesterday, its just not engaging. I'll take Wrath of the Righteous, hell, I'll take Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, over this, every day of the week.

I'll reinstall and give it a final shot when the game releases for real but right now it is as I thought, just a way to troll myself and tilt.

What upsets you so much.

What upsets you so much.

I played through the first act a few times. The controls are just, not great first of all. Its not that I cannot 'get them' its just that its aggravating, when other games (BG1, BG2, IWD, Wrath of the Righteous) that 'style' just does it better.

I feel way too much time is going into environmental shenanigans, instead of just, playing to the combat mechanics if you will. Too much attention paid to the 'dress up' portion of the game, when they are still missing class/race (schlorps) options.

In fact after playing other games, it was almost startling to load up this, and see.

Gith... lol

I dont know, I want it to be good. I STILL play Baldur's Gate 1/2 and IWD, so its not like I'm not invested into CRPGs, its just I dont know, Larian has rubbed me the wrong way.

I'll give it a shot when game releases next year I guess.

Have you tried playing Larian's other games? Divinity: Original Sin 2, for example, is basically considered one of the best CRPGs that has come out over the past decade.

Will I get this game down the line? Probably, if it ever get a full release, just because I love this video game genre.

But I really don't get Larian. As we've seen in other games, 5e is a straightforward system with mechanics that can translate well to video game format. So with the BG franchise bagged, why on earth have they made it into DOS2 with a D&D skin? Just build from scratch on the simple 5e mechanics with lots and lots of char choices, and spend the resources on a really long and involved story that can carry the BG heritage.

If it ever get a full release. I still bet my money on that we get a half-ready game with lots of compromises, which will be completed by promised free expansions, that will come out bad, or too late, or not at all. But we'll see, maybe it will be ok in the end.
