@EzekielRaiden almost singlehandedly put Lore into the finals. That is fantastic.

It was more other subclasses were more offensive, so it got to hang around for a while.

Consider how quickly all the other spellcasters dropped out, and Bard lingered for a long time simply because people had other things more important to downvote.

After all, Tempest, Thief, Battle Master, and Abjuration all received more votes and a higher percentage of upvotes than Bard did.

It has more to do with what others feel is a threat. Nobody bothered with the Lore bard because we all knew it wouldn't win... the Abjurer and the Battle Master, on the other hand, were rightly feared by detractors.

And after a quick review of the situation, I surrender to vote on Kensei and Battlemaster and started upvoting Paladin.

My only upvote for a subclass other than the Order of the Ancients was for the Fiend-lock when someone said that they hoped the Abjuration wizard would at least outlast the Fiend-lock. The Warlock was still gone by the time of my next vote. Otherwise I would have voted Order of the Ancients all the way down.

I downvoted the Battle Smith and then the College of Lore, in that order and for the same reason you gave. But yeah, I know what you mean. People are gonna do what they do.

I don't know if it helps, but the trick for me was to stop thinking of it as a "vote." This is nothing like a fair poll or an election, it's just a conversation piece. And we've had some pretty cool discussions about the different subclasses over the last couple months.
