D&D (2024) New leak looks real bad

It's $30 for a quasi video game + what amounts to a digital magazine + who knows what else, this is the top tier, we don't know how much the lower tiers will cost.

It needs to be doubly as good as World of Warcraft for that monthly price which, good luck, since World of Warcraft has killed off numerous MMO competitors before and even the survivors now are successful with an asterisk. ("Well, I know we talked a good game about dethroning World of Warcraft, but what we actually meant was ...")

That said, I trust Nerd Immersion about as far as I can throw him, so him "confirming" something is meaningless IMO, unless he's suddenly developed some journalistic rigor.

D&D Shorts has been accurate throughout this saga AFAIK so this is pretty concerning to me.

$30 subs? AI Dungeon Masters? If I heard this a year ago I'd dismiss it as ridiculous. Now? It's about par for the course.

I have no issue with $30 subscriptions at the highest tier or AI DMs. In fact, I imagine my DM would love the 2nd one so he gets a chance to play some!

I much prefer this to changes to the OGL

I'm... awfully skeptical, but it's interesting that the pricing in the rumor lines up with the supposed 'leaked D&DBeyond slide' from awhile back: link.

Yeah so long as the $30 does enough to justify itself I don't mind it, if it does not then it can be ignored.

Wow. $30 a month to roll dice with a chatbot? Why not just make a video game and be done?

The leaked slide said the $30/ month included all published content. That is real value IMO
