MSRP: $100 bucks

This is a joke but one based on….ugh.
Took me a second to realize that you were the one making the joke and not that the MSRP was actually $100, which would be a joke. Just a different kind of joke...

I looked it up - MSRP is $40, which is still too rich for my blood for minis.

$40 MSRP?

That seems high for 5 minis, but with inflation these days, who knows. If I could get it discounted I'd probably pick it up because I'd been half looking at a gelatinous cube and displacer beast minis, and the others would be nice bonuses.

Ha

One time I was DMing and I was saying "Skeletal Bulls filled with fire" and my party was hearing "Skeletal Bowls filled with fire"

Then they were confused when they were charged by the Bowls.

Good times.
I'd be tempted to run with it. The skeletal bowls filled with fire rise on skeletal feet and run towards you. That'd freak me out as a player more than a fire-fueled skeletal bull.

It was very strange that they hyped a fifth "mystery mini" in the box ahead of this release, even made a big to-do about the announcement on social media, and it turned out to be... an intellect devourer? Maybe they were hoping to stoke chatter about the possibility of mind flayers being in the movie with the reveal.
Yeah . . . especially with the intellect devourer mini being so underwhelming. What an exciting mystery reveal! /s

If $40 is too much for this set for you . . . that's fair, of course. But it isn't out of bounds for minis these days. It's a reasonable price compared to what minis go for now, painted or unpainted.

And the minis look pretty good . . . well, except for the intellect devourer.

Yeah I know I'm an old man about mini prices. I got spoiled by the D&D miniatures game back in the day. (But also my collection of prepainted minis is sufficient for me, so that probably plays into things)

And if I were going to call out one it would be the owlbear. Not that its poorly done, but because the pose seems weird to me.
