Mando season 3

Hmmn liked this episode.

Seems they're soft rebooting their own canon though. A return, a legends return from 1991 and pace picked up.

Did kinda link everything together want to see next week's episode.

So, I don't understand where this show is going.

Mandalorians attacking Moff Gideon's secret Imperial cloning base on Mandalore, mounted on mythosaurs. Victory appears secure, when a fleet of capital ships arrives and opens fire. Grogu and Bo-Katan are hit. Din throws back his head and shouts "THRAAAAWN!" Silence. Fade to black. Ahsoka title card.

This much has been obvious from the start. It's whatever filler they use for the intervening episodes that has the potential to surprise.

Oh you're a Disney writer?

Overall this was a fantastic episode! Really moved things along nicely and set up a grand showdown next week.

That was clever of them to get Domhnall's younger brother to play his ST character's father. It's also clear that Disney's trying super hard to retroactively foreshadow the Emperor's return, and they're not even trying to hide it now -- Project Necromancer! LOL.

I'm guessing that big beast that crushed the sail barge wasn't the mythosaur. Didn't have quite the right head shape, I don't think. I wonder what it was.

Oh, also, I love that they've used IG-11 to give Grogu a voice (even if it's just "yes" and "no"). I was in stitches.

I want to know who those main Mandalorian survivors on the sail barge were. Unless I missed it, they weren't named in the credits.

I'll be disappointed if Bo-Katan doesn't at least get to kill Moff Gideon with the darksaber first.

What's the soft reboot, and who is the Legends return?

Pelleaon on the shadow council. Thrawns captain of his ISD ended up the old man of the Empire intends and ruled it. Signed peace with NR and reformed it.

In the new canon the Empires surrendered already (4 years before the show) and Palpatine burned it down in Operation Cinder.

They haven't referenced tgat on screen but basically left the intervening years blank. All the fompetent Imperials sodden off to join the First Order.

So there's a shadow council the Imperial remnants are essentially the Imperial Rembant and Thrawn should probably be off forming the First Order.

So if there's Imperial forces out there loyal to Thrawn why bother with Mandalore or whatever.

Are they gonna repeat imperial remnants and left overs hiding out twice over?

Why woukd they be trying yo work for Palpatine if he's already made his decision. The clone thing he's already cracked that and Snoke is already alive.

RoS vibes?

Pellaeon was already introduced via Rebels, although it was just his voice. This was the first time seeing him.

I'm not sure how much Thrawn will be involved with the establishment of the First Order. Yes, there's the Unknown Regions connection, but we don't yet know where the purrgil took Thrawn. I liked how Moff Gideon questioned Thrawn's "imminent return". I suspect Thrawn will be taken out of the equation (perhaps by Ahsoka) before the First Order is properly a thing.

Because as Bo-Katan said, no one's ever been able to defeat the Mandalorians when they're united. If they regain their strength, they can cause problems for the resurgent Empire. Plus, I get the sense that Moff Gideon views Thrawn as competition. He's got his own plans. He doesn't even seem to be fully on-side with the Shadow Council in general. He was clearly withholding information from them during their meeting.

Snoke is alive, yes, but has not yet risen to power. Palpatine's undead body is probably still too weak for him to be able to do much yet.

Brendol Hux, who was also on the Shadow Council, played a large part in establishing the First Order.

Should Hux already be out in the unknown regions kidnapping children etc?

Thought he was one if the first to sod off along with Sloane after Jakku 4 years earlier.

It was supposed to be the Empure best, brightest, mist fanatic.
