Let's not forget that for all the good the Canadians have done they're also incurable monsters who put milk in bags.

My Google Fu brought up the term "coconut crumb" and I will clearly never have a Nanaimo Bar.

And this just looks like a basic tartlet. Which, to be fair, sounds delicious, but "we found a way to make butter delicious" doesn't really inspire bragging rights.

I will not lie though, I would 100% try poutine.

tl;dr, Chinese Buffets are one of the best culinary inventions of our time, but why you gotta pair it with "let's make sushi boring and bad"

Not a fan of coconut, huh? Fair enough.

Buttertarts are a classic. To me if they don't have raisins in them, then they aren't really buttertarts. Walnuts on top are appreciated, but not necessary.

A good poutine is an amazing thing. Even a crappy A&W pountine, with their fries, curds, and what is likely canned gravy is better than nothing.

Probably our greatest gift to the world, is a well done Chinese buffet. If you're ever in the Greater Toronto Area try to stop by a Mandarin Restaurant. It's Americanized Chinese food but quite good, with a large selection. People line up for the Prime Rib.

I literally grew up in Nanaimo, British Columbia, and it is to my shame that I report that I am not a huge fan of Nanaimo bars. Too sweet.

Ham and pineapple on pizza, on the other hand, is a delightful combination, and anyone who is against poutine is against life itself.

Also, milk in bags is a weird, eastern Canada thing. Our milk comes straight from boxes, as nature intended.
I'm surprised about the Nanaimo Bars. The ones I've had are sweet, but not tooth achingly sweet, likely due to the use of dark chocolate.

Agreed on both counts, re Hawaiian Pizza and poutine.

Bagged milk is the only way, if you have a house full of teenagers.

Every single bar in Minnesota has poutine, and its always disgusting. Not sure what they are doing wrong here?

Likely not consulting the Quebecois, who do it right. It always looks disgusting. It can taste great. The most common mistake is to use regular cheese, instead of cheese curd. Cheese curd melts very well, with the hot gravy.

EDIT - If you like you can punch up the flavour of a homemade poutine by using St-Hubert's chicken sauce, instead of gravy, but the curds are a must. St-Hubert (pronounced Saint Hubear) is a Canadian chicken restaurant chain. They sell both a canned chicken BBQ sauce and canned gravy. The BBQ sauce is what I'm talking about.

I dont think I've seen someone so emphatically prove the point of the other person they are arguing against so succinctly in months.

My coworkers and I are up for two awards that I put us in for specifically to spite the manager who didn't want us to do the great, awesome and necessary thing because his fingerprints wouldn't be on it. They're also not going to be on whatever awards we win now!
Many years ago, in a company far away....

Product manager from head office kept trying to convince the C-Suite that I was incompetent. Told me not to bother trying to do something because he already had and, after three weeks, found it to be impossible.

President visited our branch and asked me to try. Two days later it was done.
