I've just had A Idea for the perfect crime spree in Dnd that will sadly never get used. Thoughts

In it A Thief plans to get away with a 1-man crime wave by making it so obvious that she's the 1 responsible that every watchmen in The City will assume she's being framed and will never look into the possibility that she's the 1 responsible

But I'm wondering, would The Thieves plan to get away with a 1-man crime wave by making it so obvious that she's the 1 responsible that every watchmen in The City will assume she's being framed and will never look into the possibility that she's the 1 responsible work?

Lots of people will take the easy path and lock the thief up anyway.
People who want actual justice and would sincerely investigate are THE MINORITY!

IMO. She needs a seemingly 'air tight' alibi for at least one of the crimes attempting to frame her to erase suspicion. But other than sounds like a great story.
