Ironically once again, the main issue here is that The Mandalorian's writing and directing is of such inconsistent quality and confused nature that that it's possible those shots and The Armorer's behaviour were simply bad writing/directing rather than intended to signify anything or even to be a misdirect.

I’d like to think it was a deliberate misdirect. I was expecting her to fly up through the clouds to discover that the fleet was under attack. But the ambush happened to the scouting party on the surface.

Star Wars is formulaic. It was designed to be formulaic. It's easy to predict.

Ignoring the formula is fine (EU 1991-2012). Making crap not so much.

Much like any franchise Star Wars can be hit or miss. Some things are fairly obvious it won't work.

It was a bit silly how many jetpack-wearing fighters on both sides were vulnerable to being knocked off a ledge.

All of these fights need to be choreographed by someone who has ever played an action videogame. All sides, in all of these shows, are terrible at actual fighting.

(PS I'm impressed The Armorer's actor hasn't self-destructed like Gine Carano as she has previously expressed similar views previously and her husband even more extreme ones than Carano did.)

She likely realizes playing someone who wears a helmet in every scene forever means it's incredibly easy to replace her.
