Mando season 3

Y’know. After Obi Wan, you’d think Vader would have made his suit out of beskar.
I think we have to presume there are some significant downsides to Beskar armour that aren't really relevant to Mandalorians. Also note it's only "lightsaber-resistant" rather than "lightsaber-proof". Either that or because it's an alloy, the specific formulation and information on how to mould it was temporarily lost.

Plus it's kind of an admission of failure or inadequacy in a Jedi/Sith. Vader's suit isn't really armour - he protects himself with his Force powers and lightsaber, his suit is more to deal with his physical condition and intimidate people. And talking of losers, it didn't protect the Mandalorians when it counted.

Or maybe Vader is just super-enlightened and isn't going to do cultural appropriation on the Mandalorian culture!

That's all Watsonian of course. The Doylist explanation is that it's just been re-invented/re-canon-ized by Favreau and we're running into the same wall Karen Traviss and others ran into last time the Mandalorians had lightsaber-deflecting armour, which is that suddenly a vast number of questions are raised, and this can of worms probably shouldn't have been opened. Apparently Favreau failed to learn anything from that. I.e. they should have made it largely blaster-proof and to barely slow down lightsabers.

2) Vader would have known of Sabine's anti-beskar resonance weapon at the time of ANH.
Yeah there we go.

Even if Sabine's version was destroyed, once the concept is out there, someone will be able to reinvent it if the need is there - and the sort of rebels we see in the OT, Rogue One and especially Andor seem like they'd absolutely find a way to do it if they thought they could vapourize the Emperor's right-hand man that way.

Though yeah 100% agree Vader's ego wouldn't fit in such a suit lol. Goddamn show-off was blocking blaster bolts with his hands!

Someone such as Sabine, who is known to be alive and a member of the Rebel Alliance. And whist she might have moral scruples about using it, the Empire would assume she did not.

Vader would have felt pretty silly striding through Echo base if someone flicked a switch and he was fried by his own armour.

I don't mind force healing conceptually not so much like RoS depicted it.
I think people often confuse this with critiques of Rey from earlier movies.

A common critique for Rey is that she manifests powers "out of nowhere" with no training. Such as when she just learns the jedi mind trick on a whim, strong enough to counter Ben Solo.

However, by RoS, Rey has now had training from Luke and Leia.....and so her having access to a number of techniques becomes a lot more plausible. I mean Luke has been studying the old scrolls for years, might have picked up several ancient techniques along the way.

It's also worth noting that Luke managed to destroy the first Death Star between 15 and 90 hours after he started his Jedi training (depending on how long you think it took to get to Alderaan). And he clearly wasn't training 24 hours/day, either. So apparently for some Force users it doesn't take a huge amount of training in terms of time. I'm not sure Rey shows any precognitive powers as impressive as that shot, either.

I'd suggest Rey also had a fundamentally better mindset for light-side Force powers than Luke, too, as she had far fewer anger issues, and wasn't really tempted by the Dark Side significantly (indeed she did more tempting of Ren to the Light Side).

(Some people use ancient Legends bollocks to try and claim Luke had "years" of "secret" training from Obi-Wan, but it's all utterly non-canon nonsense that doesn't even fit with the movies nor the Obi-Wan show.)

EDIT - Also re: "lowest of the low" discussion re: Anakin, it's notable that Rey had a far harder life than Anakin did.
