Isn't Dendar supposed to be imprisoned in a demiplane underneath a volcano in Chult? Does that mean that her realm in the Outlands is abandoned?

I mean, maybe we'll find out? Maybe that's a portal to Dandaria, or whatever this is.

One presumes that is related to Dendar the Night Serpant, Eater of the World, Spawn of the First Nightmare, Devourer of Foul Visions, Harbinger of the End of the World, etc, etc.

Chultan Yuan-Ti God/Abomination. Fits in with Ubtao and Gond being made universal figures here in the Outlands.

That seems weird. Dendar has normally hung out in the Grey Wastes.

IIRC, it does say that she's still trapped, just that Ubtao has abandoned his post as her prison guard.

I don't think Dendar has been trapped under that Volcano for a very long time. She was in I think Prince of Lies living on Fugue Plane. I don't remember her location in 4e.

It's admittedly been a while and I'm by no means enough of a Forgotten Realms lore expert to validate the claim, but I seem to recall that video equates Dendar the Night Serpent with Niðhoggr, the dragon from Norse mythology destined to bring down Yggdrasil the World Ash during Ragnarok, which is traditionally found in the Great Wheel cosmology perpetually gnawing at the World Ash's root in Niflheim, second layer of the Grey Wastes.

I mean, sure, but the FR god Tyr is canonically the same deity as the Norse god Tyr, even though the FR version of his mythos says he lost his hand to Kezef the Chaos Hound rather than Fenrir...

Dendar eats moons? I thought she would eat the sun if released? I'm pretty sure she takes some inspiration from the Nidhogg, but is mainly based on Apep/Apophis from Egyptian Mythology.
