You don't spend the superiority die if you miss, though. So that helps a little.

Investing in Chainmail +1 as soon as it comes on sale is NOT a waste of money. Magical armor is much rarer of a drop than the oodles of magic weapons.

Yeah, the whole Unarmoured Defense thing isn't all it's cracked up to be. Get her some medium armour.

This is the whole of 5e though. Unless you get some magic item that boost dex or con to superhuman levels all barbarians are better off wearing some clothes. Unarmored Defense can't keep up, and it wastes your ASIs to try.

I'm currently running Karlach MC, with better stat distribution and Bracers of Defence for AC 17, but I'm going to switch to armor soon.

Probably not a good choice for Lae'zel since she gets the Jump spell anyway. But a half orc Champion with GWM should be good.

My naked barbarian resents your insistence that he put on clothing.

Initiative being a d4 roll instead of d20 is kind of crazy. I guess they did it to make you have grouped turns more often (so you can switch between characters), but it also buffs the hell out of Dex and initiative boosts..

I've reloaded a lot of fights, and early on especially it can come down to initiative and a roll of the dice. If you get the jump a fight can be over before it really starts.

Yeah a bunch of fights people say are hard that I breezed through I notice one issue is that I started the fight on my terms where they walked up to the NPCs talked and then fought on their terms.
