Do you plan on getting the new D&D core books in 2024?

Let's also not forget that some players just love monster books of all stripes, so none of this has to be an 'either/or' situation. People will probably grab Monster Menagerie, Flee Mortals, and the new 5E24 MM, regardless of the specific designs of each. Same way whole bunches of people picked up the Creature Codexes and MM Expandeds too.

Which of the six playtest packets we've seen contain the elements that you are referring to, can you cite specific page numbers or sections containing those? Saying that they want to do something and doing it are different things, packet six demonstrates the clearly.
I am not talking about any of the playtest packets. I am talking about what they, the designers, have said about the books in interviews and press releases. However, I agree what matters is the doing, not the saying. That is why I said: "...if it holds true."

A lot of folks are calling getting the new MM a "no brainer" based on MotM and I'm here still feeling ripped off for buying that book. I was expecting a LevelUp or FleeMortals degree of design improvement, and it was barely a spit polish. I have a hard time grokking how folks are impressed by Wizards' work in this area.
I am looking forward to the 2024 MM more because of Bigby's than MotM.

Am I not allowed to think people’s decisions are dumb? Are we policing thought now?
I didn’t call anyone dumb. I think some people may be making a decision too hastily. I’m surprised that seems to be such a controversial take.
Splitting some hairs, IMO.

I'm excited about the new books, at this point, I'm 100% sure I'm picking them up. My decision isn't dumb, it's just that my feelings are different from yours. You are not so convinced these are an automatic buy. I don't think your feelings are dumb, they just aren't in alignment with mine.

If you’re a self professed non-customer who will never spend a penny on DND 5e or any future editions then you can’t expect WotC to care much for your opinions.
sure, but the opposite is also true, if you buy anything because it is from WotC, then they do not need to care either

If you’re on the fence about adopting the new ruleset then that’s cool but be prepared to be slowly but steadily left behind. As a general principle it’s better to change by choice after detecting which way the winds blowing than by being forced.
sounds pretty ominous, and like a great way to have a self fulfilling prophecy

I assume you would have said the same when 4e was about to be released as well

By making 2024 5E "fully compatible" with 2014 5E WotC has undermined its necessity. That means the books will have to add value above and beyond the usual "new edition" built in value of being able to play the current game. I think this means that they will be more directly competing with other 5E-alikes (TotV, A5E, etc). They have told their customers they don't need these books, which is a weird position to take for a new ruleset (as opposed to the 2E black border reissue).
