Charlaquin didn't call anyone dumb. In this case, Umbran was putting words into @Charlaquin's mouth, and here you're running with that.Really? "Policing thought"?
Disagree? Sure. Call folks dumb and be rude about it? No.

I am not talking about any of the playtest packets. I am talking about what they, the designers, have said about the books in interviews and press releases. However, I agree what matters is the doing, not the saying. That is why I said: "...if it holds true."Which of the six playtest packets we've seen contain the elements that you are referring to, can you cite specific page numbers or sections containing those? Saying that they want to do something and doing it are different things, packet six demonstrates the clearly.
I am looking forward to the 2024 MM more because of Bigby's than MotM.A lot of folks are calling getting the new MM a "no brainer" based on MotM and I'm here still feeling ripped off for buying that book. I was expecting a LevelUp or FleeMortals degree of design improvement, and it was barely a spit polish. I have a hard time grokking how folks are impressed by Wizards' work in this area.
You are. But not where they can hear you.Am I not allowed to think people’s decisions are dumb? Are we policing thought now?

Splitting some hairs, IMO.I didn’t call anyone dumb. I think some people may be making a decision too hastily. I’m surprised that seems to be such a controversial take.
sure, but the opposite is also true, if you buy anything because it is from WotC, then they do not need to care eitherIf you’re a self professed non-customer who will never spend a penny on DND 5e or any future editions then you can’t expect WotC to care much for your opinions.
sounds pretty ominous, and like a great way to have a self fulfilling prophecyIf you’re on the fence about adopting the new ruleset then that’s cool but be prepared to be slowly but steadily left behind. As a general principle it’s better to change by choice after detecting which way the winds blowing than by being forced.
