D&D (2024) Predictions for Playtest packet 7's arrival

As a bit of a comparison, see the credits for Volo's, which included basically everyone on D&D in 2016:

Thanks for this. I forgot a few people, including Kim -- who has an amazing dedication inside Bigby's that I didn't know about until today.

Yup. Looks about double, with presumably more support staff besides, I'd think. Well, hopefully that means that they've got the time to do what they need to do to get the books finished without rushing, and on-time.

Oh, no, they've been hiring like crazy since about 2019. The D&D design team is way bigger than it was during the Next period after all the heads rolled for 4E.

Given how diverse the junior design staff is, I am surprised they aren't featured more often in YouTube videos and the like, rather than the usual assortment of white men in senior positions.

On the other hand, the junior staff probably wants to get on with their job and not be blamed for every detail that people don't like about the game or general harassment that a lot of young women, people of color and non-cis get for being "woke" or "diversity hires" by simply having a job and being in a video about a nerdy subject.

They focused pretty heavily on them for the Bigby videos.

The Next playtest packets always dropped at the most random of times. I wouldn’t read too much into the video not being out yet.
The latest I recall a UA dropping was around 5 PM Pacific, so lol.

One thing about tomorrow that may have thrown a wrench in WotC "get people's attention" plans was the announcement of the Nitnendo Direct at 7 AM Pacific.
