Maybe it's just a local transmutation of Godwin's Law. That is, as an ENWorld discussion grows longer, the probability that it turns into 4e edition war approaches 1.

Sadly, this happens every time someone starts a 4th Edition thread. I'd like to blame it on the haters, but honestly the fans are just as bad.

Almost like two sides warring.

My license plate frame says, "This guy loves bacon." I also have 4-5 t-shirts that are bacon themed. It's interesting that of all my cool(all of them are cool because it's me) t-shirts, I get "That's a cool t-shirt" comments several times more often than the rest when I'm wearing a bacon themed shirt.

I genuinely want to respond to your thread about running a 4e campaign using Essentials only. I found the Essentials books to be delightful and would love to engage on that topic. However, I see the usual suspects have flooded in and have already fired edition war shots. So, .

The only thread I can find on this is from 2022.

Edit: Oh no, it's just been quietly going this whole time. Good thread, actually...but I don't see any usual suspects firing edition war shots, just folks discussing/joking about edition wars themselves.
