I will forever remember Siskel & Eberron reviewing The Running Man (Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick) and completely misunderstanding the film. It was very much an “Old Man Yells At Clouds” moment.

One of my favorite Arnold movies of the '80s was Commando.

To this day, I am still somewhat amazed that there are people who don't realize that it's a satire. A very, very, very deadpan satire ... which is why it works so perfectly.

I’d want to see someone TRY to adapt Munchkin, Cards Against Humanity, M:tG, and Paranoia for the big or small screen.

Netflix was supposed to be doing a MTG series, but it doesn't look like there's been any news on it for a while. Magic: The Gathering (TV series)

I think we are getting to the point that the general public is familiar enough with fantasy tropes, thanks especially to Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, that a parodic take seems inevitable. Going with Munchkin -- assuming the naming rights wouldn't be an issue for the film -- seems like a good route.

I went in hoping it was, but it was 99% pot humor, rather than making fun of fantasy tropes. I'm sure it was great fun for everyone to film, though.

Commando was great. I remember watching that on VHS over and over again as a kid (was ten or so when it came out). 80s movies in general have a tone to them, where it is like they are half serious and half kidding

I like Siskel and Ebert but they are wrong a lot
