Planescape is Jeremy Crawford's favourite D&D setting. "It is D&D", he says, as he talks about how in the 2024 core rulebook updates Planescape will be more up front and center as "the setting of settings".
No, it doesn't. It's up to the DM to say what is and is not part of their game, just as it always has been. But just you can do a thing, it doesn't follow that it's now part of the multiverse for everyone.
I think you missed the argument going on. Multiverse by definition includes every possibility . no citation needed when using that term.Um…? Citation needed
Incorrect. A multiverse merely contains multiple universes, hence the name. What you’re describing might be something like an omniverse.A multiverse includes everything that can possibly be imagined.......
By virtue of everything imaginable being part of the D&D multiverse. The World of Darkness can be imagined, therefore it exists in the D&D multiverse.Um…? Citation needed
Then why did you just claim, without caveat or reservation, that World of Darkness was part of the D&D Multiverse? Seems like a contradiction to me.No, it doesn't. It's up to the DM to say what is and is not part of their game, just as it always has been.
Sure, but those crossovers were not part of the D&D multiverse setting, because they had different setting assumptions.Same time as they used Gamma World. It's a hypothetical, but using settings from other RPGs (as well as books, films etc) for D&D is not a new idea. Back in the 80s I did crossovers with Doctor Who, Star Trek, and Golden Heroes.
No group of devs in the history of the planet has ever cared about the next group of devs. It's also why I'd caution Hasbro against a multiverse themed DND central setting. Look at what it does to movies. it seems so awesome till the next group of Devs spin it in some other bizarre direction.
come on. the minute the devs use the term Multiverse they are opening that door. Problem is some of you are arguing copywright and some of us are pointing out that Multiverse means ANYTHING and EVERYTHING are now part of the game. Both side's are right amd both sides are wrong, and both sides don't exist, because MULTIVERSEThen why did you just claim, without caveat or reservation, that World of Darkness was part of the D&D Multiverse? Seems like a contradiction to me.
and thus the inevitable cycle of game mangling in the name of the common good continues......No group of devs in the history of the planet has ever cared about the next group of devs.
