Speaking of which, when you're shopping at the duty-free, be sure to check the expiration dates on any food (or "food") items you may be considering. I mean, for candy it probably doesn't matter....

There's a particularly low-class and kinda shady-seeming store around here called Steals & Deals which is sort of the kind of thing that chases the scraps left by places like Big Lots and Ocean State Job Lot...
90% of their food merchandise has signs posted explaining that it's perfectly legal to sell "expired" food...

Well, that is true. Food "sell by" dates generally follow the Montgomery Scott principle.
