D&D (2024) Speculation on the art in the new core books

oh nice, I didn't notice they got rid of the yellow on the blue dragon's wings. Good aesthetic change IMO. I tried to rationalize it as using the wings for camo while burrowing in sand, but then it would make more sense to have it on the top of the wings and ridge of their backs.

James from Ghostfire Games, who writes for the UK D&D Magazine Adventurer, comments about wanting to put new 2024 D&D art in the magazine. WotC didn’t but it’s another positive note that there is new art.

I think Dael is probably correct about the origin of the Halfling aesthetic being an attempt to replicate the effect of a top-down perspective.

If I understood what was said in the WotC video yesterday correctly, each class will be getting five pieces of art. I hope there's a nice mix of species in those pieces, with some unconventional choices.

That's Sixty pieces of art, plenty ot get all 9 Species and their suboptimal represented and by gender, too.

For fantasy, I prefer the surrealism styles over the anime styles. I want images that make it feel real.

The new dragon art is great.
