Unpopular opinions about B5...

Sheriden... isn't a particularly good captain.
Delenn tied so hard, but the Sheriden-Delenn romance just didn't work.

I'm rewatching B5 on Roku now. Sheridan....well, he's not better the 2nd time around. Knowing how messed up he was I'm impressed with his ability to keep it together, even if I don't like it.

My unpopular opinion is that B5s episodes suffer for making all in service to the plot. They strained credulity over and over again. How stupid was it for the leader of what amounts to the Secret Service to go, alone, with Suspect #1? So many stupid, stupid, stupid decisions because they couldn't write a sane solution to get the characters where they wanted them.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a good movie.

I'll endorse that. One of the better Star Wars movies. The lack of follow througj in what made it good has knee-capped Star Wars pretty hard.

Dune (the novel) is overrated. It is not bad, per se, but it isn't some shining example of elevated storytelling. it is a space opera version of Lawrence of Arabia.

Why can't it be both...?

Rings of Power is neither a betrayal of Tolkien, nor good TV. It just kinda ... is. It deserves neither the scorn nor the spirited defenses.

Oh, man, hard disagree. Ring of Power is She-Ra and the Princesses of Poeer good for me, two of my favorite shows of the 20's so far.

Alright: the MCU peaked in the third act of the first Avengers movie, and everything that followed was an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to hit that Battle of New York high again. Even the good stuff, like Winter Soldier.

Why Kristanna Loken followed that up with two Uwe Boll movies I will never understand.

4. She Ra and the Princesses of Power is, um, lit. And is easily one of the best Netflix animated offerings. Yeah, it's as good as Castlevania, and it doesn't need "adult themes" to get there, either.

I think you may be mixing up Sheriden with Sinclair, the first captain of the station. Sinclair's actor, Michael O'Hare, is the one who had some terrible challenges to overcome.

I am not sure exactly what you're referring to there.

"They" is actually "he". Something like 90% of the work was written by one man - JMS himself.
