Any statement that starts, "With all due respect ..."

... inevitably ends with, "your opinions are trash, and you are a bad person for having them."
We had a manager who clearly always used this way, and after a while, we just used to all collectively roast him with it whenever he had a remotely dumb idea. It took a few weeks, but he got the picture.

I'll never understand how people can unironically come to the defense of people, like a human, no better/different than you or I, who makes well over 90x a 'good' salary for a normal person.

This isnt Jesus here folks. Its just another dude who has climbed the ladder over the broken backs of people who did the actual labour.

because people are more than their salary.

It would be cool to talk about design without having to start by articulating a philosophy of design each time. One wonders if forums for other kinds of games have spaces where that's possible.

No, because there isn't a common language. It's something I've mentioned at length- because of the hobbyist nature of RPGs, we see the continued cycle of people creating frameworks that claim to be universal design philosophies, but are actually critiques of the past design philosophy; moreover, they are usually just repeating the same critiques and debates from decades ago.

Because there isn't an interest in descriptive discussion, but instead in elevating certain styles of play over other styles, it's hard to get to the point of generally-accepted neutral language.

There is a small, but burgeoning academic field that is addressing these issues. But no one here wants to read or discuss that. ¯\(ツ)

ETA- I would say that LARPing actually has a much more robust and neutral vocabulary at this point that TTRPGing.
