Out of all the people that said they are not planning to buy the new book, 100% of them still participated in a thread about the new books.
More evidence to support the theory that very few are making that decision out of apathy.... except in the case of very passionate apathy.Out of all the people that said they are not planning to buy the new book, 100% of them still participated in a thread about the new books.
This has already been proven wrong. They have made changes to 5e spells and abilities to change how they work and called it errata. It's not simply misspellings and factual errors.I mean, no, no it wasn't. Not by standard publishing parlance: errata is for misspellings and factual errors, not rewrites. Thsta new typical Edition.
Well, yeah, they sometimes do rules tweaks with errata when something is being consistently abused or confused. I'd say the 2024 books go quite a bit beyond that, though. The difference is very likely, "Hey, if we're going to be printing whole new books, what ELSE could we change, beyond just the errata, while still being essentially the same game?"This has already been proven wrong. They have made changes to 5e spells and abilities to change how they work and called it errata. It's not simply misspellings and factual errors.
A useless stat imo.Out of all the people that said they are not planning to buy the new book, 100% of them still participated in a thread about the new books.
Spoken like someone who participated in a thread about this topic!A useless stat imo.
There is no clear line. Rewriting classes and adding masteries is beyond that line for most people. It is not just errata. This has already been proven wrong. The general vibe for my group (Im the DM) is Yep.Quick straw poll. What are your intentions right now?
Yes or no only. If you are undecided go with which way you are leaning—-like if you HAD to pick which would you pick? If you’re exactly 50/50 then don’t worry I guess!
I agree with this, which is why holding the opinion that it's essentially errata is a valid position and opinion, and not disingenuous. Some agree with it and some don't, depending on where they draw that line. And to be clear, I use the word "essentially" because I believe that it's mainly true. Mainly, as in not all of it can be chalked up to errata. There is no clear line. Rewriting classes and adding masteries is beyond that line for most people. It is not just errata.
