D&D 5E Why is There No Warlord Equivalent in 5E?

Eh, dude spent decades tromping about the wilderness, and then gives one or two speeches right at the end of his military career. I say ranger with a warlord-like subclass.

Or rousing speeches shouldn't be limited to a class at all.

It's a skill of it's own. Could always make it available as a feat.

That all sounds nice.

But ultimately you'd have to dedicate 3+ pages to Warlord stuff.

And that's why the Warlord doesn't exist.

If the 2014 PHB had the 2024 PHB's size...

No. I'd just add the abilities needed to the fighter. Why need another guy with a sword?

why do we need half the classes? sorcerer and warlock? we've got wizard! get rid of em! bard? just give a rogue a musical instrument! druid? nah, nature cleric's right there! just throw them all in the trash, our classes don't need nuance or distinct playstyles, get rid of all the spells and feats too we don't need all those rules cluttering up the place.

im sure we could trim out enough spells for three pages of space for the warlord, and the game would probably be better for them being gone.
