D&D (2024) New Dungeon Master's Guide Cover Features Venger (From the D&D Cartoons)

The cover of the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide has been unveiled.... in the Mirror, a mainstream newspaper in the UK.

The cover art features villains (as opposed to the heroes on the Player's Handbook cover revealed last week), with skeletons in the foreground, the classic villains Skylla and Warduke in the mid ground, and then Venger from the 1980s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon looming in the background, and right at the back lurks a dracolich.

The DMG will be released November 12th, 2024.

I've been showing the cartoon to my 5 year old son every Saturday morning. He will dig the cover.

It's not like DMGs ever have great covers and I like this one more than most.

I like it. Venger looks "different" but I don't hate the interpretation.

I am sure to people just picking this up that will be the take on Venger, Warduke and ESPECIALLY Scylla since they aren't as in the public eye either.

Quite right: and that's something thsr can change. Warduke and Scylla have already been NPVs in a recent campaign (Witchlight), and we know rhe LJN characters are going to be appearing more in upcoming campaigns...and Venger will be the BBEG in one, at least.

I know it's predictable for me, but I love the image of the dracolich in the background, like its looming over its minions from the shadows.

Plus they have new toys of Warduke, Strongheart etc from NECA and new cartoon figures from Super7. Hopefully Hasbro is retooling their D&D figures to actually sell.
