Any interest in reviving this? I'd be interested in seeing what kind of training splits and diets y'all are following.
By the end of the spring semester, I found I was tired of tracking calories, realizing it had led me to a lot of yo-yo dieting. I would cut calories and trim fat, but that would lead to bingeing. More frustrating, I found it would lead to dips in my performance at the gym, disincentivizing the whole endeavor. Accordingly, I've been on a bit of a cycle where I lift, eat, and feel good but put on a little belly fat in the process. Then I try to diet it off, which works for a minute, but then I crash and spend still more time trying to diet off what I did. In the meantime, I don't make meaningful strength or muscle gains because I'm calorically just treading water.
I'm now trying to simply track protein intake and autoregulate my carbs around that. I'm still not eating smart, but I feel SO. MUCH. BETTER in the gym. Do any of y'all do autoregulation? Any strategies? I'd be inclined to simply expel any and all junk food from the house, but the spouse and kids would (rightfully) rebel.
