Spoilers Star Wars: The Acolyte [Spoilers]

My only opinion was positive and negative reactions both seem fair to me.
You think that because you haven't seen the show and thus have absolutely no basis for that judgement. That they "both seem fair" is absolutely a judgement.

And that push back against negative criticisms for a massive media company seems a little silly to me.
Which isn't a thing that's happening. There's pushback against senseless criticisms against individuals who are writing for shows. That's not "defending Disney". You may want to read the actual posts for real.

I have yet to see any show or movie where negative and positive reactions are not fair. Do I need to see a film to be okay with some people liking it and some people not liking it?

I don't know. I was reading both the negative and positive and it seems like people got a bit defensive on some of the negative stuff

@Ruin Explorer I don't want to derail the thread, so I won't keep weighing in, but my point was really just, as soon who hasn't seen the show, I am finding it useful and helpful to get both the rave reviews and the angry dislikes of the show.

ST was a bit crsp but Disney has been on fire with animated stuff. As in some of the best SW material ever made type good (that includes Legends material).

Live action is a lot more mixed. All of its been better than the bad/mid movies. Book of Boba Fett being a possible exception.

But it's been more mixed. Andor for example very slow burn but generally beloved. The faster paced shows have some plot holes or pacing issues.

The Mandalorian S2 is some of the best SW ever, S1 is more Return of the Jedi (good but not ANH/ESB good). S3 was kinda mid/low side of average.

For two episodes deep Acolyte I would argue is probably better than every other show they've done. It's not as good as say Season 2 of Mando or Andor overall (Acolyte 2 episodes > Andor first 3 episodes).

Book of Boba Fett very disappointing with one of the most popular characters ever. Obi Wan similar deal but better than BoBF. Disappointment is kinda like TPM in 1999.

I liked Ahsoka more than the net but has sone issues as well.

Ymmv of course.

So I rewatched the 1st episode

Does anyone else get some strong Empire Strikes Back vibes? Snow, Dark Twin, Descent into Caves, Transition Cut Scene Swipy things, a former master.

I don't think this is bad, I'm loving this vibe.

Not specifically. In general maybe but not like TFA and RoS.

A) Has anyone in-show called them "Sith" or even alluded to it? Because the philosophy the "Dark Helmet" person has offered doesn't really line up with Sith philosophy at all and there are certainly other Dark Side weirdoes out there. There's no "master your rage and hate" and instead a lot of "yo kill Jedi pls but you'll have to do it on hard mode to get my respect".
