I know it's the point of the thread... But I always feel a little left out.. Either I'm not active enough to see the problem threads, or I'm oblivious.. Likely a bit a both.. But I often feel like I'm on the outside of an inside joke. :/

So ... there isn't really "a point" to the thread. IMO.

Some people like to blow off steam about other things on the internet, vaguely.

Some people like to post jokes and other musings from the far corners of existence ( @trappedslider ... I'm looking at you).

Some people like to come in for a hang, and say hello every now and then.

Some people are just here for the hootenanny.

Others for the word play. Or the callback jokes. Or the ritual airing of grievances. Or feats of strength. Or just talking 'bout whatever is going on in their life, from sickness to mangoes.

Sometimes real conversations break out. Usually about Star Trek. But also other stuff.

And, of course, some people like to come here and convince us that Canada is a real place, and Chicago has pizza that isn't made with the discarded ketchup from the hot dogs.

Don't stress, post what you feel like, and enjoy!

I would never try to convince you that Canada is a real thing. We already have enough people coming here from the UK, on their way to Australia.

So, right now, in SW: TOR, there's a festival event going on that includes a daily mission to participate in a dance...

My character was standing there doing a fairly stupid looking dance when one of the npcs walked right through my character, stopped immediately in front of them with their back to the character and began dancing.

And I mean immediately in front of them.
It was...um...suggestive.

I feel mildly violated.

At least you don't have a whole desk and staff at the airport dedicated to helping people who thought they were going to Australia, like they do at Zurich International Airport.

I like to come in and speak whatever is my current obsession, and then basically carry on a conversation with myself if no one else feels like chiming in.
