Spoilers Star Wars: The Acolyte [Spoilers]

I also think there are also practical reasons for not having Kelnacca fight. Without expensive CGI a big man in a monkey suit doing backflips would look ridiculous!
My only real complaint with the show is that the industry-wide budgeting issues do seem to be impacting even assumedly high-priority shows like this one. Kelnacca is a cool idea that they almost assuredly didn't have the budget to really let shine. And some of the cinematography and set design just seems a little..off, not quite up to the cinematic standards of a lot of the other Disney+ Star Wars shows.

Aside from the budget, I think there was also a creative decision to keep CGI to a minimum. A lot more practical sets rather than the CGI of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka. But the original movies were full of ropy muppets and Chewbacca's suit was terrible, so I'm willing to overlook it. It's still way better than the Doctor Who I grew up on!

I think that, in general, the budget for streaming series has gone down. I believe we'll start to see the same for movies.

They had 180 million dollars for roughly 4-6 hours of content.

I loved ep 3, because it showed us other force users. Then it killed them and we'll barely see any more of it. That part sucked.

EP 4? Um, they set up scary moth fight with lots of them, and do nothing. There wasn't much exposition while walking. It really seemed like filler to me.

That's a big part of episode 3.

New force tradition cool. And all dead.

Are they a couple? Who cares dead.

Do I care about these characters? And they're dead.

Take away the recap and end credits the episode are barely longer than a sitcom hence pacing issues.

Less than 2 hours so far. 8 episode season afaik.

Dark helmet being female would be more interesting.
They had more than enough budget. Obi was 90 mil.

I do not see where they spent it. The Wookie looks like Harry from Harry and the Henderson's for example.

For 180 million, I would have preferred 13-22 45-60 minutes episodes.

I really hate how the Mando normalized short episodes for SW.

I don't think it looks that bad but it doesn't look great either. How it looks doesn't really factor into it for me.
Calling it low budget doesn't fit as it's not.

No. It is not low budget. It is Spaceballs-sized budget. I just wish I knew where are the money was going these days with these super high budgets.
