In Three Weeks ‘The Acolyte’ Has More Audience Reviews Than Three Seasons Of ‘The Mandalorian’
You may not like The Acolyte, but don’t look me in the eye and tell me it’s not being review bombed to hell and back.

The review bombing is a bit disgusting, but sadly not at all surprising.![]()

Well, I've done my part to fight the review bombing by posting my review.![]()

Yeah it's got to the point online with all the review-bombing and fake hate that even some right-wing-o-sphere people I've seen have been coming out to say similar - i.e. could people stop pretending it's worse than [exactly the list you posted].I also put it above BoBF and Obi Wan as well. See how it lands the ending. Probably over S3 of Mando.
This is the result of bad writing, because Filoni is just not good at writing for live action for whatever reason. I feel like I could guarantee him covering the same material in animated episodes wouldn't have left the same feeling (nor would it have been so flabby and generally "meh").It felt like a railroad to me. The DM has decided that Thrawn is coming back, so Ashoka is fighting the predefined narrative, not the villains, and therefore can’t win no matter what she does.
I would not trust either. I trust friends or family opinions. The critics have been garbage for years. They will praise content I detest and complain about content I enjoy. What's funny is, I don't think the morons who do the review bombing realize that what they're actually achieving is making it so audience reviews can't be trusted, and we need to go back to primarily trusting critic reviews, something the same review bombers are very opposed to!
Thank you. Ahsoka was badly written. There was maybe 2 good episodes of content. This is the result of bad writing, because Filoni is just not good at writing for live action for whatever reason. I feel like I could guarantee him covering the same material in animated episodes wouldn't have left the same feeling (nor would it have been so flabby and generally "meh").
If he'd done it right, it would have been obvious that Thrawn was several steps ahead of the game the entire way along, and that Ahsoka was getting played out. But whilst there was some amount of saying that was what was going on, what we were seeing on screen didn't look like that at all. It looked like Thrawn wasn't really ahead at all, like he barely made it out of there, and yes, only because of "DM fiat" (or "writer fiat", I guess). Filoni just couldn't let go of the idea that he needed to make Ahsoka have a big heroic moment at the end. I think he's running up against an inability to "kill his darlings" too, in that he can't even make his darlings look that bad.
Also one of the dumbest scenes I've ever seen is of the Republic letting a scary-looking shuttle land on their ship (why?!), then all lining up with guns, and carefully waiting for the guy to get out, and being like "We'll shoot you!", and the guy gets out with his helmet on (So dumb. Does he fly the ship with that on? We know he doesn't!) just to make it into a reveal when he takes it off. Just dumb bad bad dumb. On a kid/teen-oriented TV show like Clone Wars or Rebels you might forgive this, but in a full-on live action show? Absolutely brain damaged. How do they set up and perform this scene without anyone pointing out how ridiculous it was? It wasn't even dramatic because the audience knows who it is.

In general, I will read the reviews from both the critics and audience if I am curious. I will trust audience reviews but only if they actually write a review. If it is a simple "best show ever" or "worst show ever" then I do not find it useful. Also, you can see bot action on both sides of most reviews, especially when you see the same language or narrative in a review. I noticed this recently with Wheel of Time Season 2. You had reviews on multiple sites using the same language and phrases.
I will say that human nature is that people will rarely rush to review something they like. I do not bother to write reviews if I enjoy a movie or show. If I really dislike something, then I may be motivated to write a review or complain in the hopes that there will be a course correction for future content.
Acolyte is not a 80%+ show as per the critics. It is not a 14% show either. It may be slightly better than BoBF. My personal opinion is that it is watchable if you are bored but it is not something I would ever watch again.
I've watched the first 4 episodes after reading about the review bombs. It is certainly not as bad as the audience reviews (bombs) make it out to be. I'm enjoying it, but to be honest it is really hard for somebody to make something Star Wars I wouldn't like.Yeah it's got to the point online with all the review-bombing and fake hate that even some right-wing-o-sphere people I've seen have been coming out to say similar - i.e. could people stop pretending it's worse than [exactly the list you posted].
The review bombing is particularly funny as basically any TV show or movie which has Acolyte in the name as attracted a huge number of mysterious bad reviews. Almost as if the dumbest chuds possible, and/or a bunch of AI-generator-assisted bots were posting the negative reviews.
What's funny is, I don't think the morons who do the review bombing realize that what they're actually achieving is making it so audience reviews can't be trusted, and we need to go back to primarily trusting critic reviews, something the same review bombers are very opposed to!
